Science Talks / Lecture MOIPONE Academy invites Professionals and PhD/Masters Students from the Universities, to give talks about their special fields. Our organisation MOIPONE ACADEMY (supported by SAASTA and DST), hosted awareness campaign about Antarctica, Marine Bioscience, Astronomy and Nanotechnology, in Tembisa since 2005. The main aim of this project is to engage and focus attention on Science careers, through the skills and professional help of our South African scientists.

Site visits: Moipone Academy organises educational site visits to exhibitions, companies, institutions and museums. Zitikeni, Inqayisivele, Boitumelong, Tembisa High and Thuto Ke Maatla Secondary learners were taken to International Science, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (INSITE), Mintek, Megapak, WITS Planetarium, University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria (SCI-ENZA and FABI) Hartebeeshoek Radio Astronomy Observatory – HartRAO, Johannesburg Observatory, Sci-BONO, Johannesburg Tourism, SABS, WITS (Chemistry Labs, Origin Centre and Planetarium) and NECSA.

Schools Outreach Programmes – Screen play MOIPONE Academy visits 13 local secondary schools to show learners science educational videos. This programme helps us to reach learners who are unable to visit our centre. Science shows will be included as soon as possible.
